The eye clinic is staffed by four doctors and an ophthalmic nurse. The clinic is equipped to diagnose and treat eye conditions.
The Optometry Department opened it's doors in April 2018. It has grown considerably since then. It often provides non-medical aid patients with comprehensive optometric examinations and offers an array of spectacle frames, lens options and lens enhancements.
Cataract surgery We offer Scleral Tunnal Cataract Surgery (STCS) and Phacoemulsification Cataract Surgery.
Glaucoma surgery For severe cases of glaucoma we offer Gonioscopy-Assisted Transluminal Trabeculectomy (GATT) and Trabeculectomy surgery.
Miscellaneous surgery Correction of squints and removal of growths or objects from the eye (e.g. squamous cell carcinoma, pterygiym and foreign objects)
Diabetic Retinopathy Screening & Treatment
The fundus camera takes photos of the retina and the OCT camera takes photos of the macula. These areas of the eye can be affected by diabetes. With these cameras diabetic eye disease can be diagnosed in an early stage and can therefore be treated before it affects the vision.
The Argon laser treats Proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy. The Yag laser treats glaucoma and opacities that occur after cataract surgery.
